Habitat for Humanity Build

Jet FM is proud to “host” the 2012 Jet FM community Build with Habitat for Humanity Courtenay.  Our goal is to raise $100,000 to erect one door (one home) in the Habitat for Humanity Piercy Build Program to be completed in 2012.

To show our commitment to the project, we have launched the campaign with a $1,000 cash donation as well as a commitment to a minimum of $20,000 in advertising to support the fundraising efforts of all involved.

Working with Jet FM will be 10 teams under the Jet FM umbrella.  We need one person to be the main contact for your team which Jet FM will use to get in touch to do news stories on the progress of your fundraising.  Each team has a goal of raising $10,000 which can be reached with as many members as you want on your team.   This commitment can consist of cash donations, donations of goods in kind, as well as donations of services in kind.  The bottom line is for everyone to reach out to their networks to lighten the load for everyone.  EG.  If you have 40 people on your team, and they each talk to 10 of their friends and ask them to each donate $25 towards your team goal, there’s your $10,000!  Or if you have a certified trades person on your team that is willing to commit a certain amount of hours to help with the build, that is calculated on a cost per hour basis, and that total amount would be added to our team’s goal.

Each team is provided with one build day and on that day 25-30 of your teammates will be on hand to contribute to the completion of this home.  Our goal is to have this home completed by May or June of 2012.

Jet FM will promote each team through both on air and on line exposure, plus Habitat for Humanity will supply a computer program that not only allows people to directly donate to your team, but also provides a thermometer so that your “fans” can follow your progress.

The goal of this whole undertaking is to have a lot of FUN - so the campaign is not about Jet FM, and not really about the Teams, but instead about all of us working together towards the goal of building this home for a very deserving Comox Valley family. 

We are even asking that each team come up with a special team name that we will post on the website!
